When did you get BIT by the travel bug??

Traveling for me, has always been in my blood, Haitian Born - American Raised. My journey started at the youthful age 3 years old. Born in Port Au Prince, I was uprooted and swept away to "the land of opportunity," an experience that many people in my country dream of.

"Take advantage of every open door, every leg up, and opportunity to further your education - we work hard now to be able to give you a better future..." sentiments my parents have expressed repeatedly for as long as I can remember.

They're right...but, I've decided that my path to success doesn't have to be all struggle and sleepless nights - I can travel and still reach for my goals. A sprinkle of spontaneity and wanderlust later and here I am...the amateur travel know-it-all that I hope you all come to know and love as The Travelling Afro.

What Exactly is a Travelling Afro?

As voluminous as my personality, as free spirited as my curiosity for the world, and as thick as these Caribbean thighs, my afro is one of a kind and has been a part of my travels since the beginning. I go wherever the next affordable adventure is and wherever I go, Terra Oils goes, and where there are Terra Oils - my Travelling Afro will be there moisturized and glistening in the sunlight.

The Difference Between 'Traveling' + 'Travelling'

It’s wonderful to travel—to meet new people, see new places, experience different cultures, live life the way life is lived somewhere else. Plenty of good things are associated with travel, but there’s one particular issue that can make traveling annoying: the spelling. Travel is easy enough to spell and not at all confusing, but “traveling,” “traveler,” “traveled”? These words are a common cause of confusion because some people spell them with one 'L'  while others use two.

Traveling or travelling depends on where is your audience. Traveling is the preferred spelling in the U.S. Travelling is the preferred spelling in the UK or in the Commonwealth. This American-British spelling difference carries for other forms: traveled or travelled and traveler or traveller.

I chose the preferred UK | Commonwealth spelling of "Travelling" because I'd like to believe that this blog will reach an audience as far and wide as the UK and other countries. My goal for this blog is to incorporate the use of Terra Oils products throughout my travels while sharing all my travel adventures with all of you 😍.
